Threefold Rift is an idle auto-battler in which you spend your attention on building a character — picking between Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence, juggling ten equipment slots full of random gear — and then hit go. Each turn you pick from three path options on the board: fight through a battle, take an event like a shrine or merchant visit, or push straight deeper. Eight decisions made and you've cleared a stage — then the next begins with harder enemies and better loot waiting.

Loot never gets stale because the game keeps reshuffling dead rolls until they find better ones, and every dropped item is genuinely different from anything you already hold. The hand-crafted unique items pull double duty too: found deeper in the run they pack more punch, so exploration always carries a reward beyond just surviving another stage.

When you eventually stop pushing forward there's plenty else — a Legacy tree of permanent upgrades to open up on later runs, arena duels against other people's streaks, and Hold the Wardstone, a tower-defence game set on winding stone maps where you position wards and a mobile hero against waves of creeping corruption.

Highlights

  • 01Build a character from scratch — split stat points, equip ten slots of random loot, figure out what combo works
  • 02Bosses that regen health and wake with protective shields — poison, chaos and speed-bursting cut through
  • 03Unique items with custom effects found during runs
  • 04Arena PvP and leaderboard, plus a score-based Ironman mode with its own global ranking
  • 05A Legacy tree that opens permanent upgrades across multiple runs so later heroes start stronger
  • 06Hold the Wardstone — tower-defence mode on winding stone maps where you position three wards and move a hero by hand
  • 07A town treasury built by dead heroes — falling still matters, even at the end
